A Day Of Gratitude

Gratitude-2When you think of Thanksgiving, do you think of the Turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes? I know that’s a familiar scene that runs through my head when Thanksgiving is mentioned. Scenes with family all around, movies to be watched and oh yeah, let’s not forget the pumpkin pie!

This year will be the first year that we are not spending the holiday with extended family. Instead, we will spend it, just the 4 of us together at our home. I have to admit, I was feeling a bit sad at the thought of not having the huge spread at the dinner table, surrounded by laughter and of course a little bickering (what family gathering doesn’t have that?). That’s when I spent a minute to reflect on all that we have and all that we are and realized… That’s not what it is all about, is it?

So this year, we will spend time being grateful for our lives, our home, our loved ones and our friends. We will be grateful that we are together and not separated by miles, or anger or loss. Our life is full (all be it crazy) and it is exactly our design (although even I sometimes wonder what we were thinking, lol).

There is plenty of time to get your life back in order, get organized and set new goals  and start a new exercise and healthy eating plan next week. So on this Thanksgiving friends, live love and laugh  and be grateful and thankful for all you have.

Chea :)
